Jovial Andre Laloo all set to compete in Paragliding Accuracy Pre-World Championship in Himachal

Must read

Shillong, April 3: Jovial Andre Laloo of Mawprem is preparing to compete in the Paragliding Accuracy Pre-World Championship to be held at Himachal Pradesh’s Bir-Billing from April 5 till April 10, 2023.

Billing in Himachal Pradesh is the second highest Paragliding site which is approx 5000 feet ALG (Above Ground Level) and approx 8000 feet above sea level. Bir is the landing point and Billing is the takeoff point. Bir is also known as India’s Paragliding paradise.

Paragliding pilots will have to take off from Billing and land in Bir Landing ground. They have to land on a specific target marked at the centre of the ground. The athlete who lands on the bull’s eye or on the target is considered the winner.

Though there are many rounds of flights, the athlete who lands on the target or the one who lands closest to it is considered the winner by score. The one closest to zero score is the winner. Taking into consideration the height, weather condition and skill of the Pilot, it is not an easy task.
