Shillong, Sep 14: The delegation of executive members led by Tuliram Ronghang, the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) officially met the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) led by Pyniaid Sing Syiem, on Thursday to discuss on the issue of the two communities residing in the Block-2 border of Meghalaya-Assam.
During this meeting, the two councils discussed the pressing issue of communal conflict between the Karbi and Khasi communities in Block 2. The two CEMs deliberated on measures to promote peace between these communities to ensure that the common people, laborers, and farmers do not suffer.
Pyniaid, CEM of KHADC, stated that the CEM of KAAC has given assurances to initiate an official dialogue to facilitate peace. Syiem emphasized that the resolution of this issue can only be achieved through dialogue and official communication.
