Ampati, April 4: Kamarpara Urban Health & Wellness Centre (UHWC) was inaugurated on Friday at Kamarpara, Mahendraganj, under Zikzak C&RD Block, South West Garo Hills.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Sanjay A Sangma, MLA of Mahendraganj Constituency, in the presence of Clement Momin, Chairman of SDRC, Dr. H Barman, DMHO, the Gaonbura, Village Health Council (VHC) members, local leaders, members of the medical fraternity, and the community at large.
Addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest, Sanjay A Sangma expressed his appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the medical team. He acknowledged the commendable progress made in various health initiatives and stated that this development has inspired him to work closely with the health team. He emphasized that the establishment of the UHWC in such a densely populated area will greatly benefit the local community by providing emergency and essential healthcare services within a walkable distance. He also urged the newly appointed staff to actively engage with the community and coordinate with the District team and District Health Society to ensure the effective functioning of the center.
In his address, Dr. H Barman highlighted the necessity of a healthcare facility in the locality and elaborated on the wide range of health services that the center will offer to the surrounding villages. He reiterated the commitment of the health department to enhancing healthcare accessibility and quality in the region.
The Gaonbura of Kamarpara, in his speech, extended heartfelt gratitude to the authorities for establishing the UHWC. He congratulated the newly appointed healthcare staff and encouraged them to serve the community with dedication, promoting harmony and well-being among the residents.
The inauguration of the Kamarpara UHWC marks a significant milestone in improving healthcare accessibility in Mahendraganj, ensuring that essential medical services reach the people efficiently and effectively.
