Shillong, Feb 20: All measures have been put in place to ensure smooth conduct of polling for the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council.

ADC i/c elections, Ronnie Wahlang, said that the arrangements have been meticulous, with officers and staff working diligently to facilitate a seamless voting.

Polling materials were issued from ISBT in Mawlai for 13 constituencies, while two each will be dispatched from the SDO Civil offices in Sohra and Pynursla subdivisions.

Wahlang informed that the contesting candidates, including political parties have extended all cooperation to ensure free and fair election process.

“The well-being of officials involved in the election duties are being constantly monitored. Medical teams are on duty to oversee any medical emergencies,” he said, while informing that the government personnel on poll duty have been provided with the option to cast their votes through postal ballots.

Postal ballot cell has been put up at the ISBT cell.
