Shillong, Sept 16: The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has officially provided a dedicated office space for the Hima and Elaka Chiefs to utilise during their visits to the Council.
The office was handed over by Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pyniaid Sing Syiem during a brief ceremony held on Monday.
The CEM highlighted that the new office is intended to assist Syiems, Lyngdohs, Sordars, Sirdars, and Wahadadars in their administrative tasks when visiting the KHADC. To further support them, a staff member will be assigned to assist the Chiefs during their time at the Council.
Pyniaid said that the establishment of this office is aimed at strengthening the relationship between the KHADC and the traditional chiefs of the Hima and Elaka, ensuring smoother collaboration and communication in the future.
