Tura, Sept 6: Students of Dobanggal non-governmental LP school are unable to attend their classes due to dilapidated condition of the school, but Kharkutta constituency legislator Rupert Momin has “turned a deaf ear” to appeals for its repair.
According to the President of Adokgre and Dobanggal non-governmental LP school, Albert Momin, several petitions were sent to the local MLA for the repair of the school, but there has been no response.
Complaints have been made even by the village Sordars for support from the local MLA but there has been no response despite the school crying for urgent repair work.
The school is in Kharkutta constituency and has 40 students. The roof of the school has developed cracks and moreover, the walls are cracked and doors and windows are broken. Due to these conditions, several students remain absent from the school during rainy seasons.
Expressing unhappiness over the dilapidated condition of the school, Momin said, since the local MLA has shown no interest to help repair the school for the children, he sought the assistance of the education department to address it urgently.
