Know where to park your vehicle as you head out for Ed Sheeran Concert

Shillong, Feb 11: Shillong is all set to host global music sensation Ed Sheeran at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on February 12.

Fans from across the Northeast and beyond are traveling to witness the Grammy-winning artist perform in his signature intimate and raw style.

The sold-out concert is part of Sheeran’s 2025 India tour – Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru.

Known for chart-topping hits like Shape of You, Perfect, and Thinking Out Loud, Sheeran’s soulful lyrics and melodies have captivated millions worldwide.

He got recent inducted into Spotify’s Billions Club with 12 songs.

With over 26,000 fans expected, Shillong is set to experience one of its biggest international music events. Enthusiasts from Assam, Mizoram, Nagaland, and even Kolkata have arrived in the hill city, eager to sing along.

Security, Entry Guidelines & Traffic Management

The East Khasi Hills District administration has made elaborate security and traffic regulations to ensure a smooth experience.

Entry & Security Measures

– Gates open at 4 PM; only two entry points (Main Gate & Golf Link).
– Road from Golf Link to JN Stadium closes at 3 PM.
– Only mobile phones, keys, and wallets are allowed inside.
– Children under 5 are strictly not permitted, even with a valid ticket.
– Three-layer security screening with wristband checks, frisking, and metal detectors.
– Helmet deposit points at SRGT parking.
– Three exit gates will be opened post-concert for crowd dispersal.

Traffic & Parking Arrangements

– Multiple roads will be closed from 3 PM, including Lumjingshai Junction, Golf Link, and City Hut Dhaba.
– Designated parking areas include Golf Link, State Central Library, and the State Convention Center.
– Emergency vehicles will be given priority access.

Deputy Commissioner Rosetta Mary Kurbah has urged ticket holders to arrive early to avoid congestion, while SP Vivek Syiem assured that police have been sensitized for smooth crowd management.
