KSU puts up signboards demanding ILP, resolution to Assam-Meghalaya boundary dispute near Nongstoin

Shillong, Aug 4: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Nongstoin Circle on Wednesday put up signboards demanding implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) and resolving the boundary dispute with Assam.

Led by Wanbhakupar Lyngdoh Nonglait, the KSU activists went to put up the signboards at Sohpian road at Phodja-ud village on the way to Nongstoin, the district headquarter of West Khasi Hills district.

A statement from the union said the objective was to intensify demand for ILP and solution to end the boundary dispute.

It said the government of India should respect the ILP resolution unanimously passed by the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly in December 2019.
