Shillong, Dec 7: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) on Thursday observed the 29th death anniversary of KSU leader Bull N Lyngdoh, who passed away in the year 1994.
A solemn ceremony was held at Dhankheti, where the bust of the late union leader is erected.
The program witnessed the presence of KSU General Secretary Donald V Thabah, KSU members and Late Bull Lyngdoh’s family members.
Late Bull Lyngdoh served as the President of the KSU from 1984 to 1990. During his tenure, he devoted all his time and energy to protecting the indigenous tribal community.
Late Bull N. Lyngdoh is still fondly remembered for his commitment to safeguarding the Hynniewtrep community, enduring imprisonment and torture by the state police. He was known for initially opposing the Railway line’s entry into the state in 1989.
