May, Tura 5: On Saturday afternoon, in an absolute last-minute nail-biter, West Balalgre Club emerged victorious with a 2-1 win against their opponents, Maram FC, in the eleventh match of the Tura Football League 2024 Super Division at the GBHSS Chandmary Football Turf, Tura.

As the game commenced, both teams maintained a strong defensive line, preventing any advances from passing through.

However, by the end of the first half, the match saw nothing but unaccompanied passes and a lack of teamwork from both sides, resulting in an even 0-0 scoreline.

After the break, both teams returned to the field with renewed energy, yet their streak of near misses and witless offsides persisted.

However, at the 87th minute, Erak Sangma of West Balalgre seized an opportunity to score a goal from a penalty kick, sparking loud cheers from the team’s dugout.

The tension heightened when, in the 88th minute, Maram FC also received an opportunity to score, which Bikalsing Marak seized by assisting Treesbirth Momin’s free kick, equalizing the scoreboard.

Extra time of 7 minutes was allotted, keeping the crowd on the edge of their seats. The nail-biting silence broke into uproar when West Balalgre’s goalkeeper, Sengrang Marak, scored the match-winning penalty goal at the 96th minute mark of the game.
