Lawei ba Phyrnai sends another email; demands release of Julius Dorphang, threatens to blow-up a LP school

Must read

Shillong, April 8: Lawei ba Phyrnai, a new terror outfit in Meghalaya that has become a hot topic of discussion after its threat to blow up schools, has once again sent an email to Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, this time demanding release of former HNLC chairman and ex-MLA Julius Kitbor Dorphang, who is languishing in jail for raping a minor.

In the new email, the publicity secretary of Lawei ba Phyrnai identified himself as a school teacher whose contract was allegedly terminated at the behest of the Chief Minister and Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui.

He also revealed that Lawei ba Phyrnai was originally an educational society before members and sponsors laid down their pens in exchange for AK-47s.

Mentionably, Lawei ba Phyrnai had sent its first mail to the Chief Minister, Governor and some police officials on April 01, 2022, identifying itself as a “terror group” formed by 37 “qualified jobless youth” and threatened a series of bomb blasts targeting educational institutions every week from May 1.

In the latest email, the outfit demanded the immediate release of Julius Kitbor Dorphang, who is serving a 25-year jail term for the rape of a minor in 2017 when he was a legislator.
Stating the release of Dorphang as its first demand, the outfit instructed that Dorphang should be left alone inside a bus at the “ISBT Platform on the 9th of April, 2022 (Sunday), at 10 pm”, failing which it would blow up a Lower Primary (LP) school.

At the same time, the email said: “Don’t waste your time tracking us. This IP address has been coaxed and so was the previous one. Sparing you the trouble, our address is 114.143.108.143 after which it would bounce to 158.144.109.170 then to 152.57.86.143 before shifting from 158.144.114.36, 103.226.236.243, 158.144.59.70 and finally 114.143.108.89.”

The outfit gave the credit for this, and seemingly impossible way to track their email, to their expert software engineer Organising Secretary who is an M.Tech graduate.

The outfit further said: “First, blame it on yourself. Second, I guess it lies in the job description; who, after all, is least likely to confuse the radio with the landing gear, or the red wire with the green! So let the games begin!”

The threat in 1st email

In the first email sent by the outfit on April 1, 2022, it had threatened to target MBOSE building, followed by St. Anthony’s School and College, and even NEHU. It said it will continue to plant bombs till the state government comes up with a solution to employ ever single Meghalayan out there.

The outfit had also claimed that they had free sponsored arms and ammunition whose capability and strength will come to display in a couple of weeks.
