Lifeless bodies of two leopards found in Guwahati’s Ganeshpara, foul play suspected

Guwahati, Dec 14: In a disconcerting development, authorities launched an immediate investigation after the discovery of two adult leopards in Guwahati’s Ganeshpara area on Thursday morning.

The lifeless bodies were found at Rajmohan Path, with one leopard showing signs of foul play, evident from its tightly bound limbs with a rope.

The disturbing recovery, prompted Forest Department officials to respond promptly, initiating a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the demise of the leopards.

According to forest official, the team from the department rushed to the spot after receiving information from the locals.

Official also said that it is suspected that the leopards were poisoned by some unknown people. During the post-mortem some undigested food was found in their stomachs.

Meanwhile, the samples have been sent for further investigation.

A case of unnatural death has been registered by the forest department.

Official also informed that one canine tooth was also missing from one of the leopards.
