Mahendraganj College to begin academic session this year; Edu Min inspect ongoing construction

Tura, Feb 19: Education Minister Rakkam Sangma along with MLA Sanjay Sangma on Tuesday inspected the ongoing construction of the Mahendraganj College of Science & Commerce, South West Garo Hills.

The civil works is in final stage of completion and the minister has instructed the department to expedite the ongoing construction.

“The PWD department has been directed to ensure completion of the academic block by May 2025, so that the classes at the new college can begin”, said Rakkam Sangma.

He also expressed his disappointment over the construction, as deadline for the completion has expired.

“The progress is not satisfactory”, the minister said while informing that considering the urgency of the matter the department has been given deadline to ensure its completion, so that academic session can begin.

The minister also informed that recruitment for the college is on and faculties will be inducted at the earliest.
