Tura, June 14: Post Lok Sabha elections, the state government has begun a major reshuffle starting with the state police force where officers from as high as Inspector General to Superintendents of Police have been changed, as per an order given out on Friday.
One of the high profile transfers has been that of Inspector General Mukesh Kumar Singh who has been stripped of the Law and Order post and sent marching to the Civil Defence and Home Guards as the Inspector General- Commandant General, a gubernatorial position.
East Khasi Hills SP Rituraj Ravi has been sent back to the 6th MLP Battalion in Umran as Commandant, while West Garo Hills SP Dr Dara Aswaghosh has been transferred as the next Shillong City SP.
In their place, the state government has brought back former SPs Sylvester Nongtnger as the new SP for East Khasi Hills and Abraham T Sangma for West Garo Hills.
The new transfer orders given out by the state government today are below;
