Guwahati, April 15: A shocking case of cannibalism has come to light in Assam. The incident was reported from Bidyapur in Bongaigaon district where a person is reported to have consumed human flesh.

The man has been identified as Satish Chandra Rai, a resident of Bongaigaon.

Meanwhile, police have arrested the person and are interrogating him at police station.

According to reports, a dead body was being taken to the local crematorium for cremation. A person reportedly ate a part of the dead body that had been consigned to flames.

Locals got hold of the person once they came to know of the incident and are now demanding that he be ousted from the village by the village council.

Meanwhile, the person himself has confessed to consuming human flesh.
