Manbhakupar Malngiang to represent India in AFC U17 Asian Cup 2025 Qualifiers

Shillong, Oct 21: Meghalaya footballer Manbhakupar Malngiang has earned a spot in the 23-man squad for the India U17 Men’s National Team, which will compete in the AFC U17 Asian Cup 2025 Qualifiers.

The tournament is set to take place in Thailand from March 23 to 27, 2025.

The squad, announced by head coach Ishfaq Ahmed, will see India face Brunei Darussalam on March 23, Turkmenistan on March 25, and hosts Thailand on March 27.

There are 10 groups in the qualifying tournament, and the top team from each group, along with the three best second-placed teams, will advance to the AFC U17 Asian Cup in 2025, joining hosts Saudi Arabia.

India’s 23-man squad for the AFC U17 Asian Cup 2025 Qualifiers includes:
Goalkeepers: Aheibam Suraj Singh, Rohit, Nandan Roy
Defenders: Dheeraj, Goyary Kokrajhar, Ksh Eykhojit Singh, Sabir Ahamad, Sajin Balan, Sankalp Yadav
Midfielders: Abdul Salha Sheergojri, Ahongshangbam Samson, Kh Azlaan Shah, Levis Zangminlun, Mahmad Sami, Manbhakupar Malngiang, Md Arbash, Ningthoukhongjam Rishi Singh, Vishal Yadav, Ngamgouhou Mate
Forwards: Bharat Lairenjam, Prem Hansdak, Hemneichung Lunkim
Coaching staff: Head coach – Ishfaq Ahmed; Assistant coach – Ramachandran Govindaraju Mileswamy; Goalkeeper coach – Zakeer Hussain Mohammed; Strength and conditioning coach – Chelston Pinto.
