Shillong, June 29: The Marboh and Marwein clans have distanced themselves from Isabella Marboh, following her arrest on Tuesday on charges of attempting to rob a bank in city.
They said her actions were of her own will and they do not condone such acts.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the two clans said, “We would also like to clarify that we have no knowledge and we do not condone the actions committed by Isabella. The act was her own personal choice and the families don’t stand by her acts.”
The families also expressed their gratitude to people involved in trying to locate Isabella Marboh from day one when she went missing.
“We would like to thank the Dorbar Shnong and residents of New Kench’s Trace, relatives and friends who stood by us in time of need. We would like to thank the Laban Police Station and the print and electronic media for their dedication and hard work to locate Isabella,” they said.
40-year-old Isabella Marboh was arrested by city police on Tuesday after an FIR by the Branch Manager of Meghalaya Rural Bank, Bishnupur Branch on Monday. She was reported missing since Friday but was found by the branch manager inside the bank on Monday morning when he opened the branch.
