Nongpoh, Nov 4: After years of waiting, Mawtari Myrdon in Ri Bhoi District has gotten their first Community Hall. The locals of the village can use them for their social and cultural needs.
The community hall was inaugurated by Congress’ Member of Parliament from Shillong, Vincent Pala, on Friday in the presence of Dr. Celestine Lyngdoh, former MLA of Umsning, Raja Brahma, BDO of Umsning C&RD Block, Bipul Thangkhiew, President of RBYF and many others.
The Community hall was constructed at an amount of Rs. 18.50 lakh sanctioned from SRWP 2016-17 and through MP LAD of 2021-22, 2022-23.
Pala said this is an historic day for the people of Mawtari Myrdon as their long awaited dream of getting a Community Hall has been fulfilled.
The MP also lauded the efforts of the Block Development Officer for his tireless initiative in making this dream of the locals of Mawtari Myrdon a reality.
