Tura, June 10: Don Bosco College (Higher Secondary Section), Tura bagged the top position in the HSSLC (Arts Stream) examination, the results of which were declared by Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) on Friday. Ramyank Nilabh Chakraborty of Don Bosco College, Tura secured total marks of 460 making it to the 1st position in the State with letters in English, Political Science, Geography, Sociology and Economics.
Bahunlang Mawrie of Auxilium Higher Secondary School, Shillong and Vijay Adhikari of St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong attained the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
The other students who made to the top 10 list of Arts stream include Hadassa Mebaker Lyngdoh of St Anthony’s Hr Sec School, Shillong and Dajied Kynsai Sungoh of Little Flower Hr Sec School, Ummulong shared the(4th position), Jeremaiah Wanrah of St Gabriel’s Hr Sec School, Shillong(5th), Ibapaleishisha Kharkamni of St Edmund’s Hr Sec School, Shillong(6th), Bryan Casper Lyngdoh of St Edmund’s Hr Sec School, Shillong and Thehsbun Kyndait of Little Flower Hr Sec School, Ummulong (7th), Rickie Raydolf Mairom of Sacred Heart Boys Hr Sec School, Shillong and Priyangsha Rajak of St Anthony’s Hr Sec School, Shillong (8th), Finora Wankhar and Saniya Rai both from St Edmund’s Hr Sec School, Shillong and Silbestar Shapad of St Paul’s HR. Sec School, Nongpoh (9th) and Ankita Bose of Tura Town Hr Sec School, Tura(10th).
District wise pass percentage of the HSSLC (Arts Stream) is East Khasi Hills – 91.09%, West Khasi Hills – 90.05%, Ri-Bhoi – 85.99%, West Garo Hills – 69.18%, East Garo Hills – 69.44%, South Garo Hills – 55.67%, South West Khasi Hills – 91.94%, West Jaintia Hills – 81.42%, East Jaintia Hills – 90.48%, North Garo Hills – 68.85%, South West Garo Hills – 71.42%, Eastern West Khasi Hills – 96.25%.
The overall pass percentage for this year’s exam stands at 81.17.
