GUWAHATI, Nov 26: Medhavi Skills University (MSU) and the North East Cane and Bamboo Development Council (NECBDC), operating under North Eastern Council (NEC) have joined hands to enhance the competitiveness of the bamboo industry, and significantly contribute to the sustainable development of Northeast India

The collaboration aims to foster bamboo-based startups, drive innovation, and create sustainable economic opportunities for the region’s youth. The partnership seeks to address the increasing demand for skilled workers in bamboo manufacturing and allied industries.

This initiative combines MSU’s expertise in industry-oriented skill-based degree and diploma programs with NECBDC’s specialized focus on cane and bamboo development. Together, they will establish incubation centers to nurture bamboo-based startups, offering critical infrastructure, mentorship, and funding support to entrepreneurs in the sector.

These centers will function as hubs for capacity building, offering training and upskilling programs tailored to the region’s unique economic and ecological landscape.
