Shillong, June 15: Meghalaya Police on Thursday said that another mudslide have been reported at Sonapur Tunnel in East Jaintia Hills and the road is currently blocked.
Also, efforts are currently underway to clear the same, Meghalaya Police said.
Earlier, DDMA of East Jaintia Hills issued a public advisory urging people to take safety precautions with the onset of the monsoon season.
In the advisory, the chairman of the DDMA highlighted the increased risk of mudslides at the Sonapyrdi Tunnel on National Highway 6 and the potential occurrence of landslides along the stretch of the highway from Lumshnong to Malidor.
