Shillong, May 2: The Meghalaya Cabinet on Thursday approved the Meghalaya AYUSH Medical Service Rules.
The cabinet approved the Meghalaya AYUSH Medical Service Rules with a view to promote traditional systems of medicine such as Ayurveda, Yoga, and Naturopathy. At the same time, the approved rules set clear guidelines for appointments, service conditions, and career growth.

Speaking to the media, Cabinet Minister and government spokesperson Paul Lyngdoh noted that these alternative medical practices have gained popularity in recent years. “The traditional system of medicine like Ayurvedic, Yoga, and Naturopathy have gained traction, and people are now looking at them as alternatives to current medical practices,” he said.
