Earlier, Education Minister, Lahkmen Rymbui said that that the process was going on few years and there will be some more appointments by next week.
Admitting that there are many vacancies in Government LP schools where teachers are appointed on a contractual basis , he added that permanent teachers are required to be appointed to streamline the situation.
According to Rymbui, in the process of rationalization, the Government has also decided that the schools which have 5-6 teachers and there few vacancies, those posts will be transferred to those schools which need teachers.
Asserting that the state is working on the three pillars of trained teachers, improving infrastructure and updating syllabus to improve the education system, the Education Minister asked the village authorities to have a sense of ownership on schools and ensure that appointed teachers attend classes.
“If they don’t attend classes, they should report the matter to the authorities for action,” Rymbui said .
Making it clear that the Education department is not an employment agency but it appoints teachers to teach, he said that the newly appointed teachers should be serious as should attend their classes no matter where they are posted.
Rymbui also said that there are many schools that have single teachers and Government will ensure that at least 2 teachers are appointed in such schools, adding that department is on the job while making it clear that all schools should not have single teachers.
It was also informed that the notification has been issued for MTET examination and the date of filling the form is July and the exam will be tentatively held in August this year.
