Shillong, April 3: Meghalaya government has set up an all-party committee to examine the proposal for introducing railway connectivity in Meghalaya.
The committee has been tasked with identifying solutions for railway construction, conducting a cost-benefit analysis and engaging with stakeholders before submitting its recommendations to the state government.

The committee will consist of representatives from all recognised and registered political parties and will be headed either by the Chief Minister or a minister nominated by him.

As per the official notification issued by Chief Secretary, D.P. Wahlang, all political parties have been requested to nominate two representatives for the panel.
Additionally, government departments concerned with the issue will be invited to participate in the committee’s deliberations.
