Meghalaya Games 2024: East Khasi Hills poised to have highest number of participant athletes

Shillong, Jan 9: The much-anticipated 5th Meghalaya Games 2024 in Tura will host over 3000 athletes from across the state, with the East Khasi Hills District having the highest number of participants. Till Monday (January 8, 2024), 670 athletes from East Khasi Hills District had registered for the upcoming games.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, the Working President of the Meghalaya State Olympics Association (MSOA), John Kharshiing, mentioned that although the total number of contingent participants has reduced compared to the last Meghalaya Games in 2022 in Shillong, there is a promise of a very positive impact from these games.

Kharshiing informed that as of Monday, almost three thousand participants have registered, with East Khasi Hills boasting the largest contingent with 670 athletes, while other districts range from 100 to 200 athletes.
