Tura, Jan 14: It was another high scoring game in the U18 Girls’ Football division of 5th Meghalaya Games as Ri-Bhoi District fired in 8 goals against West Jaintia Hills.

The early morning match, that began at 8 AM, saw both teams putting on fierce competition but Ri-Bhoi managed to break through the defence of West Jaintia Hills after initial resistance.

Imaia Shylla scored 4 goals while Daiamon Makhroh scored two, followed by Susiemery Lyngdoh Peinlang and Rimika Khongkai, who both contributed a goal a piece.

On the other hand, West Jaintia Hills couldn’t find any opportunity to go past the defence of Ri Bhoi, ending the match without any goal.

Ri Bhoi will play East Jaintia Hills on January 16 before it can confirm its place in the semi-finals, which will be played on January 18.
