Meghalaya Govt increases 108 emergency workers’ pay, prepares for new tendering process

Shillong, Sept 24: Health Minister Dr. Ampareen Lyngdoh on Tuesday said she held discussions with 108 emergency service workers, who expressed appreciation for the recent salary increase. In addition to the pay raise, the government has also addressed key issues concerning their job roles, leave policies, and healthcare benefits.

The Health Minister further informed that the Department is in the final stages of initiating the tendering process for the 108 emergency service. She conveyed confidence that past challenges have provided valuable insights, ensuring a smoother process this time. A cross-departmental committee is currently reviewing vendor documents as part of the pre-bid assessment phase.
