Shillong, Feb 2: The state government is waiting for the different inquiry commissions to submit their reports into the alleged irregularities in the various departments.

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma told reporters on Tuesday that extensions have been given to the inquiry commissions based on the requests made by their respective chairpersons.

He said they have cited that additional time is required because the terms of references given were very broad.

“We are hopeful that soon the commissions will be submitting their reports,” Sangma added.

The inquiry commissions were constituted to probe into the allegations of corruption in the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL), rice scam and others.
