Meghalaya Grassroots Music Project Season 2 begins with a spectacular show in Garo Hills

Tura, Oct 6: The second season of the Meghalaya Grassroots Music Project officially kicked off with an exhilarating show at Supermarket, Tura Bazar in Garo Hills.

 

The event was graced by notable guests, including Bulbully Sangma, Assistant Director of Tourism, Tura, who inaugurated the proceedings. Also present were Ava Sherin A Sangma, Tourism Officer, West Garo Hills, Trida B Sangma, Tourism Officer, North Garo Hills, and Noringchi Momin, District Research Officer (Art & Culture department).

The crowd was treated to incredible performances by popular local acts like G-Hills Finest, Snam x Kohobodi, and Crack Gang, creating an unforgettable musical experience.

The Meghalaya Grassroots Music Project, a joint effort by Meghalaya Tourism and The Meghalayan Age, is all about supporting local musicians and boosting tourism. It provides emerging artists with a platform through street and café shows, adding the magic of music to the region.

Last season, the project organized over 200 shows in Garo Hills and collaborated with more than 150 talented artists. Season 2 promises even more musical magic and opportunities for local talents to shine.
