Shillong, April 19: The High Court of Meghalaya organized a one-day programme on the subject “Judiciary and the Media, Local and Customary Laws under the Sixth Schedule in Meghalaya” on Saturday at the Auditorium of the High Court of Meghalaya.
Justice Surya Kant, Judge, Supreme Court of India, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered an insightful address on “Optimizing Court Appearance: Harmonizing Physical, Virtual and Hybrid Mode with Live Streaming Restrictions.”

Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose, Former Lokpal and Former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, attended as the Guest of Honour.

The event witnessed the presence of several esteemed dignitaries including Justice I.P. Mukerji, Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya; Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya, Judge, High Court for the State of Telangana; Justice H.S. Thangkhiew, and Justice W. Diengdoh, Judges of the High Court of Meghalaya.
The programme fostered meaningful dialogue on the evolving relationship between the judiciary, media, and the unique legal traditions under the Sixth Schedule in Meghalaya.
