Shillong, April 12:The Meghalaya Human Rights Commission (MHRC), Shillong, has initiated an inquiry into the killing of a daily wage laborer in the city on Wednesday.
The MHRC has taken suo motu cognizance of the incident and has moved to seek answers from the authorities. In a statement issued by the Secretary of MHRC, it was revealed that a notice has been sent to the Director General of Police, Meghalaya, requesting an Action Taken Report within a stipulated period of 15 days.
