Shillong Aug 9: Meghalaya Film Makers Association (MeFiLMA) in collaboration with the Meghalaya Tourism Department will be organising the Meghalaya International Film Festival from December 12 to 16, 2022.
Speaking to the media persons, the President of the Association, Commander Shangpliang said the purpose of the film festival is to provide platform for the film makers especially the regional film makers to screen their films and also showcase their talents and creativity.
The festival is also to encourage the film culture among the people of the state as film is one industry that can create job opportunities, and this will only happen with the support of the people, he said.
The President of the association also urged people of the state to come and support the film making industry in the state which also includes the colleges who are enthusiastic about film making and participate in this International Film festival.
Logo and Signature Video competitionÂ
Shangpliang further stated that the MeFiLMA will also organise competition for all the creative and talented youth of the state to create a Logo and Signature Video (40- 50 seconds duration) for the festival. The last date to submit the Logo is on or before August 16, 2022, and as for the signature video the last date for the video is on or before August 31, 2022.
The winner of this competition will be awarded Rs. 10,000 for the Logo and Rs. 20,000 for the Signature Video.
The theme for both the Logo and Signature Video are: The Meghalayan Age, Tourism, and Art and Culture, added Shangpliang.
