Shillong, June 27: In a tragic incident, six family members was injured and one infant was critically injured after lightning strike a house on Monday evening at Umsohlait Village in Ri-bhoi District.

According to reports, the infant who was critically injured, still unconscious is currently under treatment in an ICU at Nazareth hospital, Shillong.

The mother of the infant has been identified as Kristina Mynsong.

Meanwhile, four other family members have been discharged from the hospital.

Also, their house was burned to ashes.

Earlier on June 21, two persons died due to lightning accompanied by thunder at Mawjem village in Mawsynram, said a report.

According to an official from the disaster management authority, two persons who died of lightning strike was identified as Skylait Donbon (55), a resident of Mawdon village and Wallambok Rapsang (19) from Mawkham village.
