Shillong, May 14: A female nursing student from Meghalaya was found dead in her hostel room at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, on Wednesday morning.

The student, who was in her 4th semester is suspect to have died of hanging in one of the room of hostel no. 2.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination and an investigation has been initiated to determine the circumstances leading to the incident.

The Manipur authorities have not yet disclosed the identity of the student.
