Must read

Shillong, Nov 22: Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Home (Police) Prestone Tynsong on Friday informed that the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will be reconducted within two weeks’ time.

The Central Recruitment Board (CRB) had decided to suspend the ongoing PET with effect from Friday, after there were deficiencies in the process.

Speaking to reporters, Tynsong said, “Yesterday, we have taken a decision to better reset the whole thing because of some technical defect in the instrument. So, I have already told the board (CRB) to better postpone it, cancel it (PET) and restart again.”

“It will take one or two weeks (to rectify the defect) and once everything is in place, we will restart the PET,” he assured.

Asked, Tynsong said, “Through this instrument, we will be able to know this fellow he completed one round or two rounds or 10 or 15 rounds whatever was specified by the board. So, in this case what happened was those who complete a full round, maybe if it happens 10 rounds, it showed incomplete.”

“Therefore, because we really don’t want to create any doubt to any candidate, so I told them we better cancel it and check properly those instruments and once it is in place we will recall those candidates (for the test)…,” he added.
