Shillong, May 11: In response to the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma announced on Saturday that approximately 70 students from the state, who were studying in Punjab and Haryana, have been moved to Meghalaya House in Delhi as a precautionary measure.
Sharing the update on social media, the Chief Minister said, “In view of the prevailing situation between our nation and Pakistan, as of this morning, about 70 students from Meghalaya who are pursuing their studies in Punjab and Haryana have been accommodated in Meghalaya House, Delhi. We are expecting some more students who are still on their way.”

While no specific threat has been reported in Punjab or Haryana, the relocation is a preventive step in light of ongoing cross-border developments.
Officials at Meghalaya House in Delhi are coordinating efforts to receive more students who are expected to arrive shortly and are making the necessary arrangements for their stay and well-being.
