Shillong, Oct 6: In continuation of their response to the flood affected Dalu area, Meghalaya’s State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) on Sunday assisted the Block authority in distribution of relief materials in several parts of the C&RD Block.
“A team of SDRF transported and distributed relief materials to places such as South Kujikura, Rengrampara and Adanggri and Dalu C&RD Block office,” a press note from Meghalaya’s Directorate of Civil Defence & Home Guards said.
In Barongpara, the SDRF had to cross the river by a makeshift raft and ropes to deliver the materials to local residents in the area.
It may be mentioned that the SDRF team has been stationed in flood hit Dalu area since Friday following flash floods due to heavy rainfall.
