Shillong, July 18: Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma has informed that teachers from schools with zero student enrolment have been shifted to other schools.
“We have already shifted many teachers from schools with zero enrolment to other schools,” Sangma told reporters on Friday.
Asked, the minister said that the government cannot close down these schools with zero enrolment of students immediately.
“We cannot say we will close down such schools this year. However, by the next academic session, if there is no enrolment, yes it may happen so,” he added.
