Of course this has to go to the Assembly for final approval but the decision to establish a National Law University has been taken today.”
He informed that the University will be functioning from a temporary campus at the initial stage till a permanent campus is set up. About 60 students will be taken every year.
Sangma said that the financial impact on an annual basis will be approximately Rs 6 ½ crore depending on the assets and different infrastructure created and that the capital expenditure will differ from year to year.
At the same cabinet meeting clearance was given for sanctioned posts to the model degree college at Rongjeng in East Garo Hills district.
