Shillong, Jan 7: The picturesque town of Sohra will play host to a crucial two-day Cabinet Retreat on January 10 and 11, 2025, bringing together Meghalaya’s Chief Minister, Cabinet Ministers, and senior government officials. This retreat promises to be an important platform for shaping the future of the state’s development agenda.
Sohra, formerly known as Cherrapunji, is one of the wettest places on Earth. Sohra’s lush green landscapes, cascading waterfalls, and cloud-covered hills make it a stunning destination.
Before the retreat, a Cabinet Meeting will be held on January 10, setting the stage for the intensive discussions that will follow. The core objective of the retreat is to provide government departments with an opportunity to present their programs and initiatives, identify gaps, and explore solutions that can accelerate the state’s growth.
The retreat will also feature a comprehensive review of the outcomes from the Chief Secretaries’ conference chaired by the Prime Minister in December 2024. This will ensure that Meghalaya’s strategies align with national priorities, enhancing collaborative efforts in achieving the state’s developmental goals.
