Shillong, March 30: The first Electric Vehicle (EV) fast charging station in the State was inaugurated by Cabinet Minister AL Hek on Thursday at Mawsmai, Ri Bhoi District.

The EV fast charging station brought by and run by the Bharat Petroleum Corporation limited (BPCL) will cater to all the EV operators in the state. Vehicle once charged at the station can travel 1000 km on the highway.

With the goal to encourage more EV operators in the State, the BPCL aims at launching more than 7000 EV charging stations in Meghalaya. This is one of the many steps taken by BPCL towards a clean environment.
