Itanagar, Apr 17: Ahead of Lok Sabha elections Gram Panchayat Chairman (GPC) was abducted by armed militant group in Arunachal Pradesh’s Longding district on Wednesday.
According to reports, Sangam Wangsu (50), is also a member of the BJP was kidnapped from his home at gunpoint by the militant group. Police have launched a search operation to find whereabouts of the abducted person.
According to reports, surfacing from Longding Pumao assembly constituency, located in the insurgency-ridden district of Longding, Arunachal Pradesh, it was alleged that voters were being forced to support a specific candidate under threat from a militant group.
The armed militants, reportedly linked to NSCN-KYA, have allegedly been sighted in villages including Niuasa, Longkhaw, Mintong and Longphong within the same constituency.
