Tura, Nov 13: Search and rescue teams have found the missing BSF commandant who went off the beaten track inside Nokrek National Park in Garo Hills, alive and well after more than 8 long hours, shortly after 9 PM Monday night.
A massive search operation was launched after the Commandant of 200 Battalion of Border Security Force (BSF), based in Praharinagar Tura, identified as R N Mishra, went missing inside Nokrek National Park in West Garo Hills district on November 13.
According to sources, the Commandant had entered the vast national park on November 13 afternoon along with his guards without taking local guides.

“Contact was made with him almost 7 kms inside the park where a Matcha Nokpante or tiger resting place is located”, informed a team member of the search group.
