Aizawl, Oct 18: The Central Election Committee of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has approved the first and second lists of 21 candidates for the ensuing general elections to the Legislative Assembly of Mizoram.
As per the BJP’s list of candidates, it has fielded Malsawmtluanga from Hachhek constituency, Vanlalhmuaka from Dampa constituency, and Lalrinliana Sailo from Mamit constituency.

Mizoram will vote for all 40 assembly seats on November 7, the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced on October 9. The counting of the votes will be held on December 3.
The term of the Mizoram legislative assembly ends on December 17, 2023.
Currently, Mizoram is governed by the Mizo National Front (MNF).
In the last Assembly Elections in 2018, in a 40-seat Assembly of Mizoram, the Mizo National Front won 26 seats with a vote share of 37.8 percent. The Congress won five seats, and the BJP won a single seat.
Zoramthanga is the current chief minister of the state. Also, MNF is an ally of BJP in the National Democratic Alliance.
