Aizawl, April 17: Leaders of the ongoing protest by 15,000 workers employed under various Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) in Mizoram met with Lalmuanpuia Punte, Political Adviser to Chief Minister Lalduhoma, on Thursday to press their demand for job regularisation under the state government.
The delegation from the All Mizoram CSS Employees Coordination Committee (AMCECC) conveyed the long-standing challenges faced by CSS workers due to the lack of permanent employment status. They stressed that the issue has remained unresolved for years, causing uncertainty and hardship for thousands of workers.

Punte acknowledged the seriousness of the matter and said the Chief Minister is paying close attention to the AMCECC’s strike. He urged the representatives to hold direct talks with CM Lalduhoma to further discuss their concerns.
The AMCECC leaders expressed their appreciation to the government for initiating the dialogue and arranging the meeting. Acting Chief Secretary H. Lalengmawia was also present.
The CSS workers began their three-day strike on Tuesday, demanding that their jobs be regularised under the Mizoram government.
