Aizawl, Nov 2: Sitting MLA from Aizawl-II constituency, Robert Romawia Royte, will contest the upcoming Mizoram assembly polls from Hachheck constituency on a MNF ticket.
In 2018, Robert Romawia Royte of the Mizo National Front (MNF) won the Aizawl-II seat by defeating B Lalchhanzova, an Independent candidate by a margin of 1492 votes.
Royte, currently minister of state in the MNF ministry, holds the portfolios of Sports and Youth Services, Tourism and Information and Communication Technology.

Robert Romawia Royte, who is the sitting MLA of the Aizawl East – II constituency from the MNF, has declared assets worth Rs 44,74,79,562.
Robert Romawia Royte is the son of Than Thuama Royte and Lalbiakveli and was born on January 29, 1967. He is married to Lalrampari Hnamte, a high school teacher and has four children.
In the last Assembly election held on November 28, 2018, MNF won with a clear majority of 26 seats out of 40 while ZPM and Congress secured eight and five seats each.
Out of 39 MLAs in poll-bound Mizoram, 35 legislators have declared assets worth more than Rs one crore.
Elections to the 40-member Mizoram assembly will be held on November 7 and counting of votes will take place on December 3.
