“If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one”. Montfort Centre for Education, Danakgre,Tura distributed dry ration kits at West Garo Hills,Gambegre Block  to poor and marginalized people with a special focus on families of persons with disabilities. Also hygiene kits were handed over to the people in need. 600 families are supported in West Garo Hills district.

 Besides dry ration kits, education tablets were also distributed to children with disabilities in order for them to continue their education so that they can attend their online classes. 100 children with disabilities will benefit from the smart phones.

Around 2000 families will be benefitting from this humanitarian gesture shown by the Institute of Brothers of St. Gabriel, Montfort Brothers of North East Province supported by CBM.  Besides west Garo Hills, 500 each families will be supported in Guwahati Rural district

and in villages around Agartala, Tripura. This was made possible only with the collaboration of Montfort Brothers of North East Province with support from CBM.

Shri. Ram Singh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner West Garo Hills, Tura inaugurated the distribution programme on 13th August 2021 in the presence of Sir. Tyrone D. Brass, Principal, Sherwood School, Tura at the premises of Montfort Centre for Education. It was a pleasing moment to see so many smiling faces at the end of the programme, especially Children with Disabilities.

The beneficiaries were overwhelmed and thanked Montfort and CBM for this timely help and support during this time of pandemic.
