IAF rescued two NRI

Guwahati: The Indian Air Force rescued two NRI women tourists, who were trekking to Churdhar but lost their way, from the thick forest at Teesri village in Sirmaur on Saturday morning. The woman, both US citizens, were rescued with the help of a Cheetah helicopter.

Arrested

Guwahati: A fourth person, also an Indian national, has been arrested in connection with the June 2023 killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team of Canada’s British Columbia (BC) province announced on Saturday.

Badrinath Dham opens for devotees

Guwahati: Shri Badrinath Dham in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand opened its doors for devotees at 6 am on Sunday, May 12, amid chimes of melodious tunes by the Army Band, with complete rituals. While welcoming devotees, Vedic chants and slogans of ‘Badri Vishal Lal Ki Jai’ echoes across the temple.

Guwahati: Hyderabad commissioner’s west zone task force on Saturday took custody of a woman who was forcing her minor foster daughter into prostitution and rescued the minor girl.

Rahul Gandhi accepts invitation

Guwahati: Rahul Gandhi of the Congress on Saturday said he or party chief Mallikarjun Kharge would be pleased to participate in a public debate on the Lok Sabha elections and expressed hope that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would also accept the invitation.
