Chandigarh, June 6: Kangana Ranaut, actor and newly elected BJP MP, was slapped by a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable in Chandigarh airport, allegedly over “disrespecting farmers.”
Ms Ranaut, who won the Lok Sabha election from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, was about to board a flight for Delhi when the incident happened.
The CISF constable who allegedly slapped the new MP has been identified as Kulwinder Kaur and detained by CISF.
After slapping Ms. Ranaut, the paramilitary constable told Kangana that it was for “disrespecting farmers” during the farmer’s protest against the farm laws in 2020-21.
Reacting to the incident, Kangana posted a video on the X account. In a 50-second video, Kangana accepted that she was hit at the Chandigarh Airport and said, “The CISF constable targeted me and hit me on my face. I’m safe but worried about how we would deal with the rising terrorism and anti-India forces in Punjab.”
