Shillong, April 9: The Meghalaya Swimming Association’s (MSA) football team organised a one-day football exhibition match “across the borders” against Sikkim TNA Alumni team on Saturday at the MFA ground Polo.
Rain posed a challenge to the players and spectators at the MFA Ground but the slight drizzle did not dampen the spirit of the players.
The match saw the two teams battle it out on the field, however, the match ended in a draw 2-2.
Milan Lepcha and Sonam Pintso Shanderpa scored for the Sikkim TNA Alumni whereas Wolfe Pyngrope (Bahhep) scored both the goals for the Meghalaya Swimming Association’s football team.
Notably, this was the return friendship match between the two teams. Another match was played between the two teams last year in Gangtok in October 2021 which the Meghalaya Swimming Association’s football team won 3-2.
Mawphlang MLA, Eugeneson Lyngdoh, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
